WALES LOSE FRIENDLY

The Wales football team has been defeated by Bosnia-Herzegovina in a friendly match by 2-0. The match was played at Parc Y Scarlets in Llanelli. The Wales players were playing in front of their home crowd, but, they didn’t manage to put up a brilliant show in front of the home crowd. The weakness in the defense of Wales was exposed by the Bosnia players. The Wales defenders struggled in the entire match.

The head coach of Wales, Chris Coleman, himself admitted that Bosnia completely outclassed his team. Coleman said that the players would have to raise the standard of their performance if they want the team to qualify for the 2014 world cup.
Bosnia started the match pretty well and created an opportunity in the very first minute of the match. But, Edin Dzeko’s shot was brilliantly stopped by Boaz Myhill, the goalkeeper of Wales.

Just a few minutes later, Wales had almost taken the lead when Joe Allen smashed a powerful shot towards the goal post, but, unfortunately, Allen’s shot hit the bar of the post and the opportunity went begging. Bosnia managed to take the lead in the 21st minute of the match. Stevanovic gave a pass to Vedad Ibisevic just near the penalty box.

Ibisevic didn’t miss that opportunity and hit a well placed shot to take his team ahead in the match. Gareth Bale was very close to scoring a leveller for Wales in the 36th minute of the match, but, he wasn’t able to place his shot well and Asmir Begovic didn’t have to do too much to stop the ball.

Mirsolav Stevanovic doubled the lead of Bosnia towards the end of the match. The credit of the goal should also be given to Miralem Pjanic who set up the goal for Stevanovic. Stevanovic was declared as the player of the match for his fantastic performance.
