LLANELLI FACE RHYL

Llanelli have been drawn against Rhyl in the Welsh Cup. The draw for the fourth round of the Welsh Cup was made recently and holders Llanelli will be up against Rhyl.

This by no means is an easy match for Llanelli given that Rhyl come into the match having knocked out Newtown – a Welsh Premier League team.

Andy Legg is the manager at Llanelli and he would not have been delighted at the draw. This is despite the fact that they have beaten Bangor City in the previous round. Bangor City were regarded to be one of the good teams in the round, but they have met a good opposition in the form of Llanelli.

The other major draw in the fourth round of the Welsh cup include the match between AFC Porth and Carmarthen Town. Only one tie involves an all-Welsh Premier League fixture and it is the one between Afan Lido and Airbus UK Broughton. The match will take place at the Marstons Stadium. Newport County will be up against TNS at the Park Hall. The two teams met back in 2007 and the Saints came out 2-0 winners back then. This is definitely going to be a difficult match for Llanelli given that Rhyl are targeting promotion this season.

Hence, they will also be looking to do well in the Welsh cup as well. The matches will be played on or before January 29th. Andy Legg has already spoken of the importance of this match and one can be sure that Llanelli will certainly be up against it. They will be making the trip north in order to face Rhyl, who will be looking to get the second major scalp this season, as they have already beaten Newtown earlier in the round.
