Bale should accept Newcastle transfer, says Brazil great

Gareth Bale has been urged to accept a transfer to Newcastle United by former Brazil great Rivaldo. The Welshman has become disjointed in a number of aspects over the last few years. He has failed to capitalise on Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Real Madrid. At the time of his £ 85 million transfer from Tottenham to Real Madrid, Bale was expected to be the replacement for Ronaldo, but things have gone very wrong for the winger. Now, he is deemed surplus to requirements at Madrid, who are unable to get him off the books due to the high salary that his contract commands.

However, a great opportunity has arose for Madrid to get Bale out of the squad and for the player also to get some regular gametime. This is due to Newcastle United’s takeover by Saudi group, who are expected to pump a lot of money into the club. The enormous wealth managed by the Saudi group means that money is not an object for Newcastle as long as they meet Financial Fair Play regulations. Hence, an opportunity for Bale to return to England has come about and Rivaldo has urged the player to take the opportunity with both hands. The 48-year-old says that Bale would become the superstar that he is destined to become.

Newcastle should receive a big money injection this summer with a new owner coming to town and this could be a great destination for Gareth Bale, as he could reassume his superstar status at the club and keep earning a big amount of money. It would be a great chance for him to prove he is still a top-class player and be considered again one of the best in the world, so if this offer really comes, I think he should accept it,” said Rivaldo.
