Arsenal legend-turned-pundit Ian Wright has backed the Gunners’ stance with regards to the contract situation of midfielder Aaron Ramsey. The Wales international presently has less than nine months remaining on his existing contract with the Gunners and this has increased the speculation of him leaving the Emirates at the end of the season.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Wright supported the decision made by his former club and suggested that the Welshman’s inconsistency may have backed them off from renewing his contract, he said: “I have to stick with Arsenal as they have to make this kind of stance because of the amount of players we've lost in this fashion. Of course Arsenal would want him to stay but they must make this stance.”

Wales manager Ryan Giggs had defended the decision to offer Gareth Bale with the captain’s armband during the recent Nations League game versus Denmark. The Euro 2016 semi-finalists ran riot against the Republic of Ireland in the group stage opener which they won by a comfortable 4-1 margin but they could not replicate the success against the Danes.

Bale, who was very influential against the Republic, struggled to make much of an impression with the captaincy and there were even suggestions that he was trying too much after even deciding to take throw-ins. However, speaking after the game, Giggs had a different view on the same and does not believe the leadership hampered the performance of the Real Madrid star.

Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui has heaped praise on Gareth Bale after the Welshman starred during the 2-0 La Liga triumph over Getafe on Sunday. The Wales international helped the team score the opening goal after providing an assist to Dani Carvajal and later on, he found the scoresheet as the European champions celebrated an opening day victory.

Speaking after the game, Lopetegui was pleased with the performance of the attacker and believes the 29-year-old offers something different on the playing field, he said: “I was pleased with the team in general and Gareth put in a great performance. Bale offers us solutions. He played well, like many of his teammates. In the structure that we are trying to create, there are players with different characteristics and Gareth has his own. He gives us something different and we need to take advantage of that. We are delighted with how it’s going.”

Wales international Danny Ward has joined Leicester City on a permanent move from Liverpool. The 25-year-old barely featured for the Reds after making the switch from Wrexham in the summer of 2012 and he has now been offered the chance to re-establish himself with the Foxes ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

Speaking to LCFC TV, he said: “I’m delighted to be here and I’m really looking forward to the future with this football club. I’ve come here to develop my all-round game and hopefully help deliver some more success. The club has had that in recent years and hopefully there’s more to come in the future.”

The representative of Gareth Bale has suggested that his client has yet to resolve his future with Real Madrid. The Wales international has been in-and-out of the starting lineup at the Bernabeu over the past year and this has increased of him leaving the European champions despite the arrival of a new head coach.

In a report covered by the Manchester Evening News, agent Jonathan Barnett confirmed that Bale’s future remains unresolved with Los Blancos and only regular gametime could influence him to stay. Meanwhile, Barnett added that Bale is not looking into the financial side of the game and the Welshman only want assurances of regular gametime on the playing field

Wales international Gareth Bale has hinted that he could be parting ways with Real Madrid during the summer transfer window. The 28-year-old has been restricted to limited gametime over the course of the campaign but he still managed to make the most crucial impact in the Champions League final on Saturday.

Real Madrid were level at 1-1 with Liverpool when the Welshman came on during the second half and within minutes, he managed to pull Los Blancos ahead after a stunning bicycle kick from a delightful Marcelo cross. The attacker thereafter remained a threat in the attack front and put Los Blancos out of sight in the 82nd minute after Loris Karius fumbled a long-range strike into his own net.

Reputed journalist Duncan Castles has claimed that Manchester United are holding a genuine interest in signing Gareth Bale from European champions Real Madrid. The Red Devils were not able to discuss a transfer move for the Welshman last summer but Castles believes United could return for the attacker, should they receive the green light.

He said: “Manchester United are definitely interested [in Bale]. Mourinho tried to sign him last summer. Bale resisted and didn’t do anything to help or facilitate a move. If Real Madrid say yes to it, which they are likely to, and Bale says yes to it, which is undecided, Manchester United will need to redraw their transfer plans. They didn’t plan to sign an attacking player of his status.”

Former Wales head coach Chris Coleman believes Gareth Bale is clearly content with his stay at Real Madrid and he could only leave Los Blancos for another giant club in the future. The Wales international has spent close to five seasons with the reigning European champions but this has not cleared doubts over his long-term future at the club.

Craig Bellamy has been rumoured as one of the potential candidates for the vacant managerial job in the Welsh national team. The former Liverpool striker is not the only candidate, as he is expected to be interviewed along with the likes of Osian Roberts and Ryan Giggs. The latter has been the fans favourite to take over, but the former Manchester United winger claims that he is still not ready for the top-level job just yet. It remains to be seen if Craig Bellamy, who has largely been involved in punditry work since stepping down from his playing career in 2014, will be interested in such a big job.
